History
The ask here was to design a music poster that subscribed to a psychedelic style visual identity and incorporated a tactile element. Due to their 70s’ funk-and-groove-inspired sounds, I chose to represent music duo consisting of Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars, Silk Sonic.
To really lean into the psychedelia, I incorporated a bright-almost-burning color palette of pink and green, as well as distorted and swirling letters and illustrations.
Origami flower.
Tactile
Keeping with the theme of 1970s’-inspired visual themes, I opted to create handmade paper flowers to include as my required tactile element. I used origami techniques to execute this, and then brought the folded flowers into my design.
